Norwegian Professional Football League have launched a new media platform with strong video focus

With the new media platform, the Norwegian Professional Football Leagues (NPFL) digitally connects all Norwegian fans to the 32 clubs in the top two divisions in Norway – as well as the two league sites www.eliteserien.no and www.obos-ligaen.no.  With a seamlessly integrated media platform, it is very easy for clubs to add high quality digital content regularly, including videos. 

 

Ease of use in sharing digital content, increased engagement with fans.

The new media platform is designed to provide an easy and integrated digital framework for all Norwegian football clubs to engage with their fans, increase visibility to their brands, and create new revenue opportunities using digital channels e.g. higher ticket sales for games. With the new media platform, video has a major focus from the beginning as they are known to drive 60% higher user engagement in average compared to other digital media*.

The media platform is based on IP Only Qbrick’s video platform, streaming solution and the CMS software XP from Enonic. The key to success for a streamlined media platform is the RESTful API provided by Qbrick video platform and the integration support from the local team at Qbrick.

 

It was important for NFPL that the technology was developed and had resources available locally. The solution had to be focused on club’s needs and the technology providers had to be service minded to support the clubs throughout the implementations. “We are very happy with this solution. The clubs can start a live stream with the touch of a button and stream it to Facebook as well. In addition, the viewer statistics solution shows us how many people have looked at the video clip and what categories of videos are most popular.
