Web TV trends part 4 - Online video, the most effective marketing tool

Looking at Web TV trends for the new year, we see that online video is rapidly moving up to become the most effective marketing tool. Vlogging, web casts, corporate TV, social media combined with video, moving images, product presentation films etc are the most powerful components in marketing for 2011 according to blogs, marketing news, twitter feed and marketing professionals.

One news site, Site Pro News, dedicated to marketing trends, state in a recently published article: “we recommend video as the best strategy to achieve your major marketing objective: delivering a memorable, differentiated message highlighting the emotional value of your brand. And if you follow the trends, you know video is spreading across the Web like cream cheese on a freshly toasted bagel.”

Well who wouldn’t want to be cream cheese?

We are seeing a lot of activity from corporations and companies that need user friendly tools to integrate videos on their site. Qbrick has an excellent component called OVP (Online Video Platform) that makes our customer’s life so much more effective. It’s easier than using Youtube, it’s designed to be hacker-proof and is safer than any other program out there and it’s adjustable for any size of business or venture that wants to take marketing advantage of online video.

Reading further on about marketing trends for 2011, we find this excellent blog, The Blunt Blogger. The other day they wrote a post about marketing trends where they ask the question of what the year 2011 has in store for internet marketing? Their answer is: “Video marketing was mostly ignored in 2010.  Most businesses are focused on providing their customers information that they can read, but some creative businesses already started utilizing video to market their goods and services.  As this proves to be effective in reaching potential customers, more businesses are expected to join in this marketing strategy.

And to further feed this theory, here are some statistics for online video

Did you know?

        •   According to Internet Retailer, websites that include product videos sell up to 45% more
        •   A study conducted by Kelsey Group found that 55% of people who view an online video will visit the company’s website and 24% of them make a purchase as a result of watching the video
        •   Yellow Pages and Internet Retailer reports that visitors who view product videos are 85% more likely to buy than visitors who do not
        •   Embedding video in email campaigns has been shown to increase click-through rates by over 96%

So what we’re seeing here is similar to what happened with Social Media in the marketing mix, it went from nowhere to everywhere and now there’s probably not one single corporation that don’t use Social Media in one way or another. This year it’s time for online video and Web TV to become a natural part of the marketing mix. And like Social Media Networks and the Internet, Web TV is here to stay.
